Party, State leaders pay Tet visits nationwide

Politburo member Pham Minh Chinh on January 19 visited and extended his greetings to people, officials and soldiers in Co To Island District, in the northern province of Quang Ninh, ahead of Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.

Chinh, who is also Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Organisation, presented 200 gifts to households and policy beneficiary families in the island district.

Talking with the local officials, soldiers and people, he expressed his pleasure at the positive changes in the urban appearance and in people’s lives since the district was fully connected to the national electricity grid.

Wishing good health and success to the local people and soldiers, he affirmed that the Party, State and Quang Ninh Province have always paid much attention to improving their material and spiritual lives.

The Politburo member asked the district’s authorities to focus on the preparations for Party congresses at all levels as well as on taking full advantage of the locality’s strengths and potentials in its socio-economic development.

The people should further uphold the solidarity to coordinate with the armed forces on the island, fulfilling the mission of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the country, he added.

On the occasion, Politburo member Chinh presented Tet gifts to officials and soldiers of Co To Island Battalion, the District’s Military Command, and the District’s Police and Border Station.

He appreciated the efforts made by the officials and soldiers to overcome all difficulties to fulfil all assigned tasks, while asking them to prepare all measures to ensure political stability, social order and safety.

Also, on the same day, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, led by its Secretary, Politburo member Nguyen Thien Nhan, visited and donated VND500 million for the care for policy beneficiary families and poor households in the central province of Quang Nam.

He also presented 300 gifts to people living in difficult circumstances in Que Son District and 100 gifts to policy beneficiary families and the poor in Thang Binh District.
