HCM City leaders pay tribute to fallen soldiers

A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and armed forces on April 29 laid wreaths at the city’s martyrs cemetery on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30) and the 134th May Day.

The delegation, led by Nguyen Thien Nhan, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, paid homage to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and fallen soldiers for their sacrifice to national independence and freedom.

They also paid a floral tribute to late leaders and revolutionary veterans who made great contributions to national construction and defence at another cemetery in the city.

Another delegation of representatives from departments, agencies and districts in HCM City led by Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, offered incense and flowers to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and war martyrs at the Ben Duoc temple and a cemetery in Cu Chi district.

The same day, local officials and residents paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang at the museums dedicated to the two late leaders.
