The Ukrainian official extended his gratitude to Vietnamese organisations, businesses and individuals for providing substantial and timely assistance to help Ukraine cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

He underlined some Ukrainian initiatives fostering closer ties with ASEAN, asking Vietnam, with its important role in the bloc, to continue supporting and coordinating with the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to promote the realisation of these initiatives.

Yenin affirmed that he would work closely with the Vietnamese ambassador to further develop bilateral relations in the future.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach, who came to present a copy of his credentials to Deputy Minister Yenin, emphasised the successes of Vietnam-Ukraine cooperation, while promising to continue working with the Foreign Ministry, relevant agencies and enterprises in Ukraine to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Highlighting the important role of the Vietnamese community in Ukraine in enhancing relations between the two countries, he asked the Ukrainian government to create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community there to lead more stable lives and make a greater contribution to Ukraine’s socio-economic development, as well as remaining an effective bridge for Vietnam-Ukraine cooperation.
