On the afternoon of February 25, the Border Guard High Command held a press conference in Ha Noi to celebrate Lunar New Year 2026.
At the meeting, Major General Nguyen Xuan Toan, Head of the Political Department of the Border Guard High Command, reported that in recent years, the coordination of propaganda between the Border Guard Command and the press and media has achieved many positive results.
In 2025, press agencies sent hundreds of delegations with thousands of reporters to conduct field visits to border and island units and areas; promptly publishing and broadcasting nearly 29,400 news articles, photos, reports, documentaries, and radio and television programs. This clearly demonstrates the close, responsible, sincere, and effective coordination between the Border Guard Command and press agencies inside and outside the military.
Speaking at the meeting, Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation, and President of the Viet Nam Journalists Association, affirmed that press agencies always hold a very special affection for border guards and expressed confidence in the love and respect for soldiers in general and border guards in particular shown by reporters and leaders of press agencies.
In 2026 and the following years, the number of news articles about border guards published by press agencies will continue to increase, helping readers and the public access more meaningful stories about the Border Guard force, he added.
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan stated that entering 2026, a year of many important political events for the country, the army, and the Border Guard, especially the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the tasks of border guard work will become increasingly heavy, complex, and comprehensive, placing even greater importance on propaganda work.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Political Commissar of the Border Guard High Command, expressed his hope to continue receiving the attention, leadership, guidance, and support of the leaders, along with the active cooperation and assistance of news agencies and the press, especially the sharing and close ties of the reporters present at this meeting at the beginning of the Year of the Horse, including regularly accompanying the Border Guard; promptly encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers to feel secure and enthusiastic; fostering a close and inseparable bond with the people, unity, and unwavering commitment to difficult and challenging areas; successfully fulfilling the political tasks entrusted by the Party, state, and people; and continuing to confidently complete their duties.
