The programme also featured a range of meaningful activities, including a contest to wrap and cook chung cake, cultural and arts exchanges, and traditional folk games; creating a cheerful atmosphere and further strengthening military–civilian solidarity in the border area.
Within the programme framework, the organisers coordinated with the volunteer group “Giving Is Forever”, along with Corps 15 and Corps 11 of the Ministry of National Defence, as well as agencies, units, businesses, benefactors and the local authorities, to present 346 gift packages to poor and near-poor households, policy beneficiary families, village elders and reputable community figures, and students supported under the “Supporting Children to School” programme, with a total value of 319 million VND.
The organisers also delivered 120 chung cakes to poor households in the area, helping residents enjoy a warmer and more festive Tet.
Also on January 25, a festive Tet atmosphere spread across the coastal area of Ganh Hao, Ca Mau Province, through the “Border Guard Spring – Warming the Hearts of Border Communities” 2026 programme.
The event was held at Ganh Hao Border Guard Post by the Ca Mau Border Guard Command. It was attended by Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of the Ca Mau Border Guard, local Party committees and authorities, and more than 300 local residents in Ganh Hao Commune.
At the post grounds, the celebratory mood was heightened by a series of lively activities, including a banh tet-wrapping contest, traditional folk games and special cultural performances. A bustling “zero-cost” stall also provided essential goods, helping residents ease their worries in the run-up to Tet.
A key highlight of the programme was its practical social welfare support. With the spirit of “leaving no one behind”, the organisers presented more than 650 gift packages to policy beneficiary families, poor households and those in difficult circumstances in the commune, with a total value of nearly 400 million VND.
Special attention was also given to young people, with scholarships awarded to 11 disadvantaged students who have overcome hardship and to four children supported under the “Supporting Children to School – Children Fostered by Border Guard Posts” programme.
In parallel, community healthcare was prioritised through free health examinations, consultations and medicines for more than 150 policy beneficiary families and residents in difficult circumstances.
Speaking at the programme, Colonel Pham Minh Giang, Political Commissar of the Ca Mau Border Guard, said the 2026 programme continued to follow the principles of being practical, effective and well targeted. He added that during this Tet holiday, border guard posts across Ca Mau would present more than 1,700 gift packages and donate four houses, with a total value of over one billion VND.
