The event marked an important milestone in the cooperative and friendly relations between the two countries.

Over half a century of persistent cultivation, Viet Nam-Thailand relations have continuously developed comprehensively and become one of the most dynamic and effective partnerships in the region.

The two countries’ official upgrade of relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025 is clear evidence of deep political trust, opening a new stage of breakthrough cooperation across many fields.

At the ceremony, a representative of Can Tho City’s leadership emphasised the core role of people-to-people diplomacy, along with cultural and educational exchanges and business connectivity, in strengthening bilateral solidarity.

After more than one year of implementing the rearrangement of administrative units, Can Tho is making the most of its potential as a growth centre of the Mekong Delta region to proactively expand international cooperation, especially with Thai partners in investment, trade and tourism.

On this occasion, the city’s leaders also expressed their thanks and appreciation for the active contributions of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City to promoting exchanges and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Under the message “Growing together”, the event affirmed the determination of both sides to consolidate their close relationship, bring practical benefits to the peoples of the two countries and contribute to the sustainable development of the ASEAN Community.
