Prime Minister Dung said Vietnam wanted to foster bilateral relations in politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, education, training and people-to people exchanges. He called for the UK’s continued support for Vietnam in poverty reduction, infrastructure development and climate change response.
Tony Blair was deeply impressed with Vietnam’s achievements in socio-economic development, poverty reduction and the implementation of Millenniums Development Goals.
He expressed his belief in Vietnam’s long term development and praised Vietnam’s international integration policy, economic reform and its efforts to improve the business environment for investors. He also said he was willing to share his experiences with Vietnam when attracting foreign investment, responding to climate change, and developing Public-Private Partnerships, education and human resources.
Within the framework of his visit, Blair will work with the Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh and attend a discussion in Hanoi on global investment trends and recommendations for Vietnam.
