Delivering remarks at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khang asserted that the special art programme “Forever 20” carried profound significance, conveying gratitude, remembrance, and tribute to the sacrifices of heroic martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and those who rendered service to the revolution, thanks to whom people today can live in peace and independence.
“Forever 20” was a special political and artistic programme encompassing three chapters: “Youth Devoted to the Nation”, “A Journey of Memory and Gratitude”, and “Reunion and Aspirations for the Future”.
Against the backdrop of major milestones in the nation’s history, the programme depicted a range of historical images, events, and prominent figures associated with Quang Ninh, including the miners’ workers’ movement, miner-soldiers, the Coal Corps, the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea, and outstanding local people who heroically sacrificed their lives during the resistance wars. Through these depictions, the programme underscored Quang Ninh’s contributions to the struggle for national liberation, reunification, and defence.
Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra rendered tribute and conveyed profound gratitude to heroic martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and those who rendered service to the revolution.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated she was deeply moved as the programme “Forever 20” evoked memories of a time of war, empowering each person to appreciate more deeply that today’s peace, independence, freedom, and prosperous life were secured through the blood and sacrifice of previous generations. She urged everyone to live with greater responsibility and compassion, and to deliver even better care for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and people who rendered service to the revolution.
Under the Government’s direction, Quang Ninh was one of five localities assigned to host large-scale art programmes as part of nationwide activities commemorating the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.
The selection of Quang Ninh signified recognition of a locality that forged significant contributions to the resistance wars and national construction, where many notable revolutionary movements surfaced, closely intertwined with the traditions of the mining working class and the major contributions made by generations of officials, soldiers, workers, and people of Quang Ninh to the cause of national liberation and defence.
