Both teams deployed offensive pressure right from the start, determined to take away the overall glory. In the 49th minute, Vu Tin received a comfortable pass from the right wing and scored the only goal of the game with an accurate header, which helped PVF successfully defend the title for the second year in a row.
As the winners, U-15 PVF walked away with the championship trophy and VND50 million (US$2,350). Second runners-up Viettel were awarded VND30 million (US$1,410) while Son Tay and TDCS Dong Thap shared third prize with VND25 million (US$1,175) each.
Phan Van Hieu (PVF), Nguyen Vu Tin (PVF) and Hoang The Tai (Viettel) were named the best goalkeeper, most valuable player and top scorer of this year’s season, respectively, each receiving VND5 million (US$235).
