The students – Nguyen Phi Lan, Tran Nguyen Phuc and Le Ngoc Hoang – were honoured at an awards ceremony held in Hanoi on January 13.
Two second prizes went to two teams from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and the Hanoi University of Technology for their products which include a pair of smart gloves and a thermographic camera.
Another 13 outstanding initiatives and products in the three categories of transport, environment and healthcare were also awarded at the ceremony.
They were selected from 110 entries by students from 29 universities, colleges and institutes nationwide submitted to the contest, which was launched in June, 2016 by the Centre for Vietnam Youth Talent, Science and Technology and the Intel Vietnam Co., Ltd.
According to the organising board, the products to make the finals are applicable in reality while reflecting the responsibility and social conscience of young people in Vietnam.
The contest aimed to encourage creativity and scientific research among Vietnamese technological students while fostering the application of technology in teaching and improving the country’s human resources in the technological sector.
