Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Hong Tien, Secretary of the Krong Pac District Party Committee, said the festival aims to promote the image of the land, people, and economic potential of Krong Pac District to both domestic and international visitors. It also serves to introduce the district's unique products, contributing to the promotion of local economic and tourism development, and to honour the economic value of high-quality specialty crops, particularly durian.
Up to now, Krong Pac District has the largest durian cultivation area in Dak Lak Province, and the quality and flavour of durians from this area are also the most fragrant and delicious in the province. |
With favourable soil, weather, and climate conditions, durian has been cultivated on a large scale in recent years, with the 2024 crop yield expected to exceed 80,000 tonnes, and this trend is on the rise. Durian is a crop that provides exceptionally high productivity and economic efficiency compared to many other crops, bringing prosperity and wealth to many farming families in Krang Pac District, Dak Lak Province, as well as to the Central Highlands region in general.
The second Krong Pac Durian Festival 2024 features a wide variety of rich, diverse, and attractive activities, including a fair showcasing One Commune, One Product (OCOP) products and local agricultural potential with over 400 booths from organisations, businesses, and cooperatives from both within and outside the province. Additionally, a workshop on building and developing a sustainable durian ecosystem will be held, focusing on sustainable agricultural development, especially in developing a sustainable durian ecosystem, an issue of great concern for the local community.

This year's Krong Pac Durian Festival also aims to introduce the region's potential and advantages to tourists, businesses, and investors from both within and outside the country, showcasing the friendly and hospitable image of the local people. It is also an opportunity to honour farmers in agricultural production, especially durian growers, who have created the district's specialty brand.
Despite the rains, the opening night of Krong Pac Durian Festival 2024 attracted a large crowd of local residents and visitors. |
Right after the opening ceremony, a special artistic programme was held, featuring songs and dances with sweet and lively lyrics that celebrated the land, traditional culture, and people of Krong Pac District, as well as Vietnam in general, on their journey of development and international integration.
