A seminar on some theoretical and practical issues in continuing to promote Party building and rectification was held by the Party Central Committee’s Theoretical Council in Hanoi on June 23.

The event was chaired by Politburo member, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Theoretical Council and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang.

The seminar focused on issues related to new theoretical and practical issues as well as guiding viewpoints, key tasks, and breakthrough solutions to further promote the Party building and rectification; the prevention and reversal of deterioration to political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, the internal expression of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”; and other recommendations and proposals.

Participants at the seminar also gave opinions on how to strengthen the Party building and rectification and build a comprehensive, transparent and strong political system; building the Party in terms of organisation, ethics and cadres; tight control of power; decentralisation promotion; responsibilities of organisations and individuals in association with inspection and supervision; strengthening inspection, supervision, Party discipline, fight corruption and negativity; relying on the people to build the Party; etc.

The delegates also analysed and evaluated the implementation of the Resolution adopted at the 4th plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee, discussed important results achieved in recent times, limited work contents and reasons for these limitations, as well as proposed a number of solutions and recommendations to promptly solve pressing issues related to the Party building work in the new period.

Acknowledging enthusiastic, constructive and scientific opinions of representatives from Central agencies, ministries and branches, Politburo member Nguyen Xuan Thang underscored the need to continue to organise seminars and field surveys in a number of localities, and to soon complete an advisory report and submit it to the Politburo and Secretariat for consideration in the near future.
