Severe cold continues to hit Northern region, frost seen in some places

The Northern and North Central regions are facing frigid weather today (January 24) with temperatures falling below 0C in several mountainous areas.

The chilly weather is forecast to persist until January 28.

According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the cold air has affected some places in the South Central region this morning, while frost has been reported in several Northern high mountainous areas.

During this cold wave, the lowest temperatures will be about 8-10C in the North, 3-6C in Northern mountainous areas, and below zero in some high mountains.

Meanwhile, the North Central region has reported temperatures from 9-11C, the Central region has seen temperatures of about 12-15C, and temperatures in the South Central region have been between 16-19C.

In addition, due to the influence of the strong cold air, the area from Ha Tinh Province to Khanh Hoa Province is forecast to see showers and thunderstorms during the day and night of January 24.
