People from across the country are flocking to spring festivals at locations such as the Voi Phuc Temple in Hanoi, the historical relic of the Cho Don Safety Zone (ATK Cho Don) in Bac Kan, and Tran Nhat Duat Temple in Thanh Hoa.

The traditional spring festival at the Voi Phuc (Kneeling Elephant) Temple in Hanoi opened on February 23 (the 14th day of the Lunar New Year).

Thang Long Tay Tran (Thang Long Citadel’s Western Guardian God Temple), also called Voi Phuc (Kneeling Elephant) Temple, is dedicated to his Royal Highness Linh Lang, the son of King Ly Thanh Tong, who was the western guardian god of the Thang Long Citadel.

* On the same day, at the Con Son-Kiep Bac special national relic site in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province, a contest on making ‘banh chung’ (square glutinous rice cake) and ‘banh giay’ (round glutinous rice cake) took place. The contest marks the opening of the 2024 Con Son-Kiep Bac Spring Festival.

The contest features the participation of more than 100 artisans, with 12 teams from localities across the province.

The contest is a cultural beauty that points back to the roots and reminds future generations to preserve and promote the good traditional values of the nation.

The contest will end on February 24.

* On February 23, a spring festival opened at Cho Don Safety Zone (ATK Cho Don). At the festival, participants offered local specialties to the gods and prayed for a good harvest and a peaceful new year.

The Spring Festival also performs a bowl dance with the participation of 200 actors.

At the Spring Festival, the Bac Kan Provincial Journalists Association also held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Spring Press Exhibition.

* On the afternoon of February 23, the opening ceremony of the 2024 traditional festival also took place at Tran Nhat Duat Temple, at the foot of Ngoc Son Mountain in Quang Hop Commune, Quang Xuong District, Thanh Hoa Province.
