The 15th Ocean Dialogue, themed “From Agreement to Action: Implementing BBNJ for Equitable and Effective Ocean Governance”, opened in Ha Noi on September 18, bringing together policymakers, experts and international partners to discuss ways to translate commitments under the agreement into concrete mechanisms and actions at the national, regional and global levels.

Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the United Nations, has called on countries to step up institutional and legal preparations at all levels to move towards the implementation phase of the Agreement under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement).
