Deputies at the first session of the 16th National Assembly discussed a draft resolution on developing Vietnamese culture on April 22, expressing strong consensus on the need to promptly institutionalise Party guidelines, particularly Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is seeking public comments on the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on a number of breakthrough mechanisms and policies for the development of Vietnamese culture.

In the context as the country is entering a new era — the era of national rise — building and perfecting cultural institutions is not only an urgent requirement but also a top-priority task.

Vietnamese culture is the crystallisation of the nation’s finest values forged over thousands of years of nation-building and defence. It is a vital endogenous resource that shapes the intellect, soul, spirit and resilience of the Vietnamese people.

Tuyen Quang is home to numerous historical and cultural traditions, a “revolutionary museum” of the country. Ethnic minorities here have created unique cultural nuances, with a rich treasure of special festivals. That historical and cultural tradition is now becoming a driving force for development.
