In Pictures: Journalists capture election day across Viet Nam

As citizens nationwide headed to the polls to elect deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels, reporters from press agencies were present at numerous polling stations across the country, capturing the solemn and festive atmosphere of the nation’s election day.

All members of a family dress up for the special occasion, often referred to as the “National Festival”, jointly casting their votes to elect representatives worthy of the people and the country.

Special ballots spread civic responsibility

On March 15, voters across the country eagerly headed to the polls to exercise their rights and fulfil their civic duties. Among them were first-time voters who had just come of age, feeling both excited and slightly nervous, as well as families and couples who enthusiastically went to cast their ballots together.

Voter turnout hits over 93% as of 16:00 on March 15

A total of 71,392,498 out of 76,609,388 voters nationwide had cast their ballots as of 16:00 on March 15, representing a turnout of 93.19%, member of the National Election Council and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh told reporters at the Election Press Centre in Ha Noi.
