Under the Government’s resolute direction and the entire system’s responsible engagement, the construction and transport sector has achieved historic milestones; by the end of 2025, the total length of operational expressways had exceeded 3,300 km, unlocking new development space for key economic regions and the country as a whole.

The synchronised deployment of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), electronic toll collection (ETC), and automated weight scales is ushering the North-South Expressway into a new management phase, using technology and accuracy as the foundation for transparent, efficient, and sustainable operation.

The decisive engagement of the Government, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers and the entire political system was the key factor enabling Viet Nam to surpass its target of 3,000 km of expressways during the 2021–2025 term, according to Nguyen Tri Duc, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Construction.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 2 signed Dispatch No. 02/CD-TTg on further strengthening and improving the effectiveness of management and accelerating the completion of investment and construction projects in celebration of the 14th National Party Congress.
