Following the merger with the provinces of Hau Giang and Soc Trang, Can Tho City now integrates the regional economic strengths of industry, agriculture, aquaculture, services, and logistics. This has contributed to creating a multi-sector value chain, attracting extra-budgetary investment flows and effectively mobilising private capital.
