The exhibition is organised by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association, relevant departments and agencies.

The event aims to honour the essence of Vietnamese cuisine and food products within the global supply chain, while showcasing products that meet international standards, have strong export potential and are capable of deeper integration into global supply chains.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said that Ho Chi Minh City is the largest food processing centre in the country, accounting for around 30–35% of the sector’s production value in the southern key economic region.

The food and foodstuff sector contributes approximately 14–15% of the city’s total industrial production value, playing a key role in the urban industrial structure and being one of the four priority industries for development in Ho Chi Minh City, according to Nguyen Loc Ha.

He added that the city has been continuing to implement various policies and strategies to promote the development of the food processing industry.

Notably, the event sees the participation of enterprises, organisations and individuals from more than 20 countries and territories, taking part in a wide range of activities including trade connectivity, interactive experiences, technology and product showcases, thematic seminars and field trips.

The exhibition creates a vibrant and multi-dimensional international trading space, opening up numerous opportunities for cooperation, investment and sustainable development for both domestic and international business communities.

Within the framework of the exhibition, more than 2,000 direct business matching sessions are expected. Visitors can experience cultural and technological activities; while the Master Chef of Foodex competition has attracted more than 100 international contestants and over 250 contestants from Viet Nam.

Over the four days of the event, from April 15 to 18 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC), the exhibition is expected to attract around 20,000 visitors for business and visits, reaffirming its role as a prestigious and professional international exhibition in Viet Nam’s food processing industry.
