While achieving double-digit growth is a formidable challenge, localities have endeavoured to leverage their potential and push for growth of 10% or higher, including Ha Tinh Province.
The province lies along vital north–south and east–west transport corridors and boasts an extensive coastline, offering favourable conditions for developing the marine economy.
The Vung Ang Economic Zone continues to act as a primary engine for the province’s economic growth, attracting numerous large-scale industrial, energy, and service projects.
The Son Duong deep-water port, with its capacity to receive large vessels and convenient connections to international shipping routes, is key infrastructure propelling the development of industry, logistics, and the marine economy.
Ha Tinh also boasts scenic landscapes, historical and cultural heritage sites, beautiful beaches, and traditional craft villages.
Its socio-economic infrastructure is being steadily upgraded, while strategic transport infrastructure and regional connectivity are gradually taking shape.
The province has secured many major projects, forging new impetus for development.
Following the reorganisation of administrative units, the need to enhance competitiveness and achieve double-digit growth represents both an opportunity and a significant challenge, as traditional growth drivers are gradually waning while new drivers take time to emerge and become effective.
Investment resources have yet to meet development requirements; innovation and digital transformation continue to encounter formidable hurdles; and the business community continues to struggle, lacking large enterprises capable of spearheading growth.
To achieve its 10.43% growth target for 2026, Ha Tinh has focused on deploying comprehensive solutions with unwavering resolve since the start of the year.
Based on an assessment of the results achieved in 2025 and the growth potential in the new period, Ha Tinh has prioritised accelerating growth across three economic sectors and 21 first-level industries, with targets broken down by quarter.
Targets have also been set for each of the 69 communes and wards, with responsibilities clearly assigned to departments, sectors, and localities.
Task forces have been established to monitor, expedite, and support the implementation of key projects, with a focus on dismantling bottlenecks related to planning, site clearance, and public investment disbursement.
A number of key projects have been prioritised for accelerated implementation to forge new growth drivers.
These include two units of the Vung Ang II Thermal Power Plant, which have entered commercial operation as scheduled, and infrastructure construction in the Bac Thach Ha Industrial Park (Phase 1) and the expanded Gia Lach Industrial Park, among others, where site clearance and construction have been expedited.
Ha Tinh continues to identify industry as its primary growth driver and the private sector as the most important engine. As a result, the province has recorded positive economic performance, with economic output growing by 12.79% in the first six months of 2026, ranking first nationwide. This provides a solid foundation for the province to realise its growth targets for 2026 and the 2026–2030 period.
To achieve double-digit growth in the period ahead, Ha Tinh plans to catalyse growth alongside economic restructuring towards sustainability, intensify investment attraction, and develop enterprises and infrastructure.
The provincial authorities have directed efforts to accelerate administrative reform and digital transformation, while focusing on resolving stalled projects.
Ha Tinh will develop sectors that can serve as growth drivers, with industry as the primary driver. A key focus will be the expansion and completion of infrastructure to attract investment into the Vung Ang Economic Zone.
Agriculture is regarded as the stable foundation of the economy and logistics as a key driver to catalyse trade and services and fully harness the advantages of the deep-water port system leveraging the province’s geo-economic position along the east–west corridor to develop Ha Tinh into a national and regional logistics services hub.
