The four-day exhibition, co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre and the municipal Food and Foodstuff Association, showcases many leading brands in the food and foodstuff industry from the southern city and neighbouring localities, as well as from other countries including the Republic of Korea, Japan, China, and Malaysia.
In his opening speech at the event, Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee, stated that the food and foodstuff sector currently accounts for 14–15% of the total industrial production value, making it one of the four key industries given priority for development in the city.

In the first quarter of 2025, HCM City’s economy continued to recover strongly. Specifically, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by more than 7.5% compared to the same period in 2024 - the highest growth rate for the same period since 2020.
HCMC FOODEX 2025is expected to attract more than 18,000 visitors, including buyers, trade promotion organisations, and businesses in the industry looking to explore, connect, and expand cooperation.

Within the exhibition framework, there will be a business matching programme with nearly 40 prominent distributors from the United States, the Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia. It offered producers, distributors, and investors opportunities to explore business and expand international distribution networks and partnerships.
Notably, over 300 strategic buyers from 15 countries will participate in business matching activities, with over 1,000 meetings expected to be arranged.

A key attraction of the event is the MASTER CHEF OF FOODEX 2025 contest, with the theme of “The Essence of Vietnamese Cuisine”. It gathers over 100 participants including top chefs, young culinary talents, and students from Vietnam, India, Malaysia, and Taiwan (China).
The exhibition also hosts a range of seminars covering key topics in the food and foodstuff industry, helping businesses gain insights and move towards sustainable growth.
