Viet Nam achieved encouraging results in managing fiscal policy in the first half of the year. As the economy requires substantial resources to accelerate growth, an appropriately expansionary fiscal policy will help channel funding towards key priorities, avoid wasteful public spending, and support economic growth in 2026.

Promoting growth will be one of the top priorities in Viet Nam’s economic development and policy planning in 2026. This will contribute to achieving double-digit growth targets in the 2026-2030 period and beyond.

The monetary policy will remain proactive and flexible, closely coordinated with an appropriately expansionary fiscal policy to prioritise inflation control while supporting sustainable growth.

State budget revenue in 2026 is targeted at nearly 2.53 quadrillion VND (96.1 billion USD), with domestic sources remaining dominant, underscoring the increasingly close link between the fiscal policy and the health of the domestic economy and the need for solutions that both sustain revenue sources and support long-term growth.

At the 32nd APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting (FMM 2025) in the Republic of Korea (RoK), Viet Nam reaffirmed its commitment to making effective contributions as an active member working towards the stability and shared prosperity of the APEC region.

Given the great pressure caused by domestic and external difficulties and challenges, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has underlined the need to stay steadfast in the targets of firmly maintaining macro-economic stability, controlling inflation, boosting growth, and guaranteeing major balances of the economy.
