Since the normalisation of diplomatic relations in July 1995, Viet Nam-US relations have developed across a wide range of areas. In July 2013, the two countries agreed to establish a comprehensive partnership, and they later upgraded their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace, cooperation and sustainable development in September 2023.
