Bac Ninh Province's 2026 lychee harvest recorded a sharp decline in output compared with 2025. However, fruit quality improved significantly, while the average selling price reached its highest level on record. The domestic market continued to expand, exports remained stable in traditional markets, and sales gradually increased in higher-value markets.

On May 28, Central Retail Viet Nam coordinated with the People's Committee of Bac Ninh Province to organize a departure ceremony for the first container trucks transporting Luc Ngan lychees of this year’s lychee season to the GO!, Tops Market and mini go! supermarket chains nationwide.

Vu Hong Ngan, a farmer in Quang Hung Commune (Phu Cu District, Hung Yen Province), has successfully developed a farm of nearly 8 hectares cultivating the specialty egg-shaped lychee, harvesting dozens of tonnes annually. He has also led many local households in building the Hung Yen egg-shaped lychee brand for both domestic and international markets, yielding high economic efficiency.
