This activity was part of the “Conference on promoting the consumption of lychees and key agricultural products” organised by the People's Committee of Bac Ninh Province. Speaking at the event, Olivier Langlet shared that Central Retail has accompanied the promotion and consumption of Bac Ninh lychees since its early days in Viet Nam.
This year, although lychee output has declined significantly, the quality of the fruit has improved markedly in both appearance and flavour.
“We have prepared a lychee consumption plan and coordinated a range of trade promotion activities; Central Retail’s retail system is concentrating all resources on delivering high-quality lychees to consumers. Through strong promotional and demand-stimulation activities, Central Retail aims to double lychee consumption compared with the previous season,” Olivier Langlet emphasised.
Previously, on April 28, 2026, representatives of Central Retail attended the Conference on Assessing Production Conditions, Forecasting the Market and Signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on lychee consumption for 2026 in Bac Ninh.
Implementing the signed MOU, Central Retail’s food retail systems, including GO!, Tops Market and mini go!, will mobilise their logistics systems, retail networks and marketing communication resources to promote and distribute Bac Ninh lychees, contributing to the overall success of this year’s lychee season.
On June 4, Central Retail, in coordination with relevant authorities, will organise the fifth Vietnamese Fruit Week, opening at GO! My Tho Shopping Centre in My Tho. At the event, Central Retail will arrange a prime display area to honour Bac Ninh lychees during the Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
The GO!, Tops Market and mini go! supermarket systems will prioritise the best display locations in supermarkets to showcase and promote Bac Ninh lychees, while also applying online sales channels to make it easier for consumers to access, purchase and experience authentic Bac Ninh lychees.
In addition, this year Central Retail continues to promote the export of Bac Ninh lychees to the Thai market. Currently, Central Retail Viet Nam’s purchasing team is coordinating with its purchasing team in Thailand to organise the most effective lychee export activities.
According to leaders of the Central Retail Group, the development of a modern commercial infrastructure system not only contributes to promoting domestic consumption, creating more jobs and improving service quality for people, but also helps promote and expand sustainable markets for agricultural products, regional specialities and OCOP products of Bac Ninh Province in particular and the whole country in general.
