Candidates running for seats in the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels in Ha Noi for the 2026–2031 term have been meeting voters and conducting election campaigns. The meetings also serve as a forum for citizens to exercise their democratic rights, expressing their trust and expectations toward those who may represent their will and aspirations.

The upcoming election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure reflects the Vietnamese people’s strong confidence in the country’s stable development path, according to Pakistani Ambassador to Viet Nam Kohdayar Marri.

In recent days, from the high mountains to the coastal stretch of Lam Dong Province, streets have been adorned with colourful flags and banners. Alongside loudspeaker announcements about the upcoming election, officials and village heads have been diligently encouraging residents to take part in the vote.

Viet Nam’s National Assembly plays a key role in institutionalising development orientations and strengthening the political and legal foundations for long-term growth of the country, according to Assistant Professor Joe Pateman from York University in Canada, a researcher in politics and international political economy.

Voters and citizens nationwide are buoyed by positive socio-economic momentum in the opening months of 2026 and voiced firm confidence in the success of the upcoming election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, heard the NA Standing Committee’s 55th session in Ha Noi on March 2.
