​A tropical depression over the eastern waters of the central Philippines has the potential to strengthen into a storm that could reach level-10 winds and affect Viet Nam's south-central region, according to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

Between 6am and 11am on October 7, downpour and gale are predicted to persist across Hanoi, with rainfall reaching 40–70mm or even more than 100mm in certain places.
