The expanding use of nuclear energy in healthcare, agriculture, industry, and the environment, alongside the development of nuclear power, is creating significant demand for human resources. Viet Nam needs not only to increase the number of personnel but also to develop an appropriate workforce structure, build a team of experts capable of conducting research and mastering technology, and meet requirements for regulation, nuclear safety, and security.

Delivering Viet Nam’s national statement, Nguyen Hoang Linh, Director of the Viet Nam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, said the Southeast Asian nation is implementing its strategy for the development and application of atomic energy for peaceful purposes through 2035, with a vision to 2050, while preparing the necessary conditions for its Ninh Thuan nuclear power projects, nuclear sci-tech centre, and new research reactor.

As Viet Nam plans to build nuclear power plants, establishing a comprehensive national environmental radiation monitoring and early warning network is vital for early anomaly detection, emergency response and public protection.
