Over the past 40 years (1986-2026), alongside the renewal of development thinking and the completion of a socialist-oriented market economy, poverty alleviation policies have undergone fundamental changes in viewpoints, objectives, and implementation methods.

Over the past 80 years, since the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945), overcoming countless hardships in the struggles to defend independence as well as the challenges of reconstruction and nation-building, Viet Nam has today become a model of reform and successful development.
