The Security Agency for Investigation under the Ministry of Public Security has launched a probe into and temporarily detained Pham Quang Thien for the charge of “making, storing, distributing, and spreading information, documents, or items aimed at sabotaging the State of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam” under Article 117 of the Penal Code.

During the 2021–2026 tenure, the People’s Procuracy sector coordinated the handling of 18,980 cases involving 41,142 defendants in economic and corruption crimes, including many under the supervision and direction of the Party Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Practices, recovering over 74.769 trillion VND (2.83 billion USD) in illicit assets.

The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on June 24 afternoon approved in principle an ordinance amending and supplementing several provisions of six ordinances relating to the jurisdiction of the People’s Courts and relevant agencies.

The 15th National Assembly (NA) on June 24 approved the Law amending and supplementing several articles of the Law on the Organisation of the People’s Procuracies, with 409 out of 412 lawmakers present voting in favour, representing 85.56% of all deputies.
