Viet Nam en Scène, a Vietnamese theatre week, will be held in Paris for the first time from October 24 to 31, bringing water puppetry, tuong (classical opera), cheo (traditional opera), cai luong (reformed theatre), spoken drama and contemporary dance to French audiences.

In recent years, Vietnamese theatre has made considerable efforts to explore new approaches and innovate. Many productions have received substantial investment and demonstrated strong ideological, artistic and national cultural values, earning recognition from professionals. However, the longevity and public reach of many productions remain disproportionate to their creative quality.
