Vietnamese Ambassador to Timor-Leste Pham Binh Dam met with Marcos da Cruz, Timor-Leste’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry, in the city of Dili on October 8, to discuss specific areas of cooperation in agriculture and fisheries, as well as preparations for the first session of the Viet Nam–Timor-Leste Joint Commission.

The official opening of Viet Nam’s Embassy in Timor Leste is regarded as a significant milestone, contributing to the deepening of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in a more substantive and effective manner, for the benefit of their peoples as well as for ASEAN solidarity and development.

Timor Leste Ambassador to Viet Nam Joao Pereira has expressed his confidence that Viet Nam will remain a key economic, political, and socio-cultural pillar of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
