Travel demand is expected to rise during the five-day National Day holiday from August 29 to September 2, prompting Ha Noi to require transport operators to proactively prepare service plans, increase vehicle capacity, ensure traffic safety, and strengthen oversight of passenger transport activities at bus stations.

According to the Traveloka SEA Index Quarter II/2026 report, while tourist flows from across Southeast Asia are increasingly shifting towards East Asian destinations, growth in Viet Nam’s tourism sector is being driven mainly by the domestic market. Domestic travel is being promoted by coastal destinations such as Phu Quoc, Con Dao, Hoi An, and Da Nang.

Civil servants and employees will have between four and nine days off during the 2026 New Year and upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday. This provides favourable conditions for families to take advantage of the break to travel and explore well-known destinations.
