Viet Nam promoted its tourism potential at the 29th Travel and Vacation Show in Canada, which took place over the weekend with the participation of the Vietnamese Embassy, diplomatic missions, travel companies, airlines and tourism promotion organisations.

Traffic volumes during the final days of the Lunar New Year holiday were heavy but largely manageable, with major airports recording record passenger numbers as people returned to work and study.

The Lunar New Year (Tet) 2026 holiday reveals a clear diversity in Vietnamese travel patterns, with consumers increasingly opting for early departures to bypass peak crowds or embracing short-haul getaways abroad, said Country Manager of Booking.com for Viet Nam Branavan Aruljothi.

Viet Nam’s tourism sector is entering its year-end “golden season”, with destinations nationwide bustling as businesses roll out extensive promotional campaigns to attract domestic and foreign travellers and advance towards the 2025 target of 25 million international arrivals.

According to the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, building on the achievements of 2024, the tourism sector has been proactive, dynamic, and innovative in implementing tasks and measures during the first half of 2025, achieving significant results. The number of tourists in many localities has increased compared to the same period last year.

The 2022 Vietnam International Travel Mart, themed “Sea, island and coastal tourism”, officially opened in the central city of Da Nang on December 9.

Quang Binh Province had just decided to allow Nhat Le Travel Co., Ltd. to test the tourism product "Boat tours on Nhat Le River combined with visiting historical and scenic sites".
