Ha Noi – the City for Peace and the “heart” of Viet Nam – has just witnessed a historic event: the Opening for the Signature of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (the Ha Noi Convention).

At the invitation of President Luong Cuong, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is paying an official visit to Viet Nam to attend the signing ceremony for the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime on October 24– 25.

Ambassador Do Hung Viet presented his credentials to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the UN Headquarters in New York on June 20, officially beginning his tenure as Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the United Nations.

The UN Secretary-General affirmed that meetings with Vietnamese leaders, including PM Chinh, at international conferences have become a tradition in the partnership between UN and Viet Nam.

“Let's put peace at the heart of our words and actions”, the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said his New Year video message with the hope that the world will narrow disagreements to overcome multi-dimensional challenges in the old year and move forward bright future of peace and sustainable development.
