The figures show that the aviation market continued to expand in terms of travel demand and cargo movement, although trends varied across segments. Domestic passenger transport maintained relatively strong growth, while domestic air cargo transport continued to face a downward trend.

Alongside rising transport demand, the fleet of aircraft registered in Viet Nam continued to expand. As of October 15, 2026, the country had 261 aircraft registered under Vietnamese nationality, an increase of 26 from 2025.

In response to positive growth signals in the domestic and international aviation markets, and to promote air transport’s role in socio-economic development, tourism and regional connectivity, CAAV Director General Uong Viet Dung issued a document on October 24 requesting airlines to proactively study and develop plans to restore, maintain and expand domestic flight networks.

Reviewing and reorganising flight networks, while proactively adjusting operational capacity, is seen as necessary amid continued market growth. These measures are expected to improve air transport efficiency, strengthen connectivity between localities, and support tourism and trade in the coming period.
