The government has just issued Decree No. 144/2026/NĐ-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 181/2025/NĐ-CP (dated July 1, 2025) detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Value-Added Tax, which had been amended and supplemented by Decree No. 359/2025/NĐ-CP (dated December 31, 2025).

The 16th National Assembly (NA) on April 23 continued the agenda for its first session, holding a plenary discussion on the draft Law on amendments and supplements to four key tax laws, including the Law on Personal Income Tax, Value-Added Tax, Corporate Income Tax, and Special Consumption Tax.

A total of 462 out of 466 deputies present voted in favour, equivalent to 99.14%.

The National Assembly on April 12 adopted a resolution introducing key provisions on environmental protection tax, value-added tax and excise tax applicable to petrol, oil and aviation fuel.

The National Assembly on December 9 discussed in plenary a draft law on amendments and supplementations to some articles of the Law on Value-Added Tax (VAT), with a strong focus on clearing bottlenecks in tax refund procedures and refining tax policies for agricultural products and by-products.

Continuing the agenda of the ongoing 9th session, the National Assembly (NA) on June 17 is set to vote on a law amending and supplementing some articles of the Law on Enterprises and a resolution on the reduction of value-added tax (VAT).
