Vietnamese tourists have shown a strong preference for travelling to Japan and the Republic of Korea (RoK) during the autumn foliage season, with respective search volumes rising by 55% and 24% compared to summer.

Ha Noi has become the most searched destination by Vietnamese travellers for the upcoming National Day holiday, jumping from seventh place last year to first place this year.

Amidst the robust recovery of international tourism, Vietnamese people are showing an increasing enthusiasm for exploring the world. Statistics from both domestic and international organisations for the first half of 2025 reveal that the most popular destinations among Vietnamese travellers are Thailand, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Taiwan (China).

Vietnam ranked first in terms of the number of foreign visitors to Japan in the first eight months of 2022, with over 160,000 arrivals, according to the Japanese National Travel Organisation (JNTO) Representative Office in Vietnam.
