Team 584 has recovered 20 sets of war martyr remains in Quang Tri Ward as part of a nationwide campaign to step up the search, recovery and identification of fallen soldiers’ remains, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command reported on August 27.

Decades after the war, the work of locating, recovering, and identifying the remains of fallen soldiers remains a task of exceptional importance, carrying profound political significance while reflecting the nation’s moral principle of “Never forget your roots.”

The Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) organised a ceremony in Ha Noi on December 11 to announce DNA identification results of the remains of fallen soldiers, using a newly developed genomic analysis process (NGS–SNP).
