The trip is part of the province’s external relations activities designed to strengthen cooperation and showcase its potential to the European business community.
In Brussels, Belgium, the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, in coordination with the Embassy of Viet Nam in Belgium, organised a conference on expanding international cooperation and attracting investment, attended by a large number of businesses, economic organisations, and European partners.
Addressing the conference, Nguyen Van Quyet emphasised that the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) continues to deliver positive results, providing a favourable foundation for businesses on both sides to expand investment and trade cooperation and integrate more deeply into global value chains.
Introducing the province’s development potential, he highlighted that Tay Ninh currently has an economic output of more than 14 billion USD, placing it among Viet Nam’s most dynamic localities. With its strategic position linking Ho Chi Minh City with the southwestern border region and ASEAN countries, the province enjoys considerable advantages in attracting international investors.
Speaking highly of Tay Ninh’s potential, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Nguyen Van Thao observed that its clear development orientation and increasingly favourable investment environment position the province to attract a new wave of European investment. Many Belgian companies are currently interested in expanding cooperation in Viet Nam in areas such as logistics, green industry, high-tech agriculture, and sustainable development.
At the conference, Huynh Van Son pointed out that Tay Ninh currently hosts more than 2,000 active investment projects with a combined registered capital of approximately 26 billion USD, ranking the province among the country’s leading destinations for foreign direct investment.
A highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Belgium and Luxembourg and Tay Ninh Province. The agreement creates opportunities to connect overseas Vietnamese experts and intellectuals with the province in scientific research, innovation, and the development of high-quality human resources.
On this occasion, the Tay Ninh Economic Zone Authority granted an investment registration certificate to the Be Milk Production Plant Project, backed by by Swiss Asia Partner at Prodezi Industrial Park, with total registered capital of more than 100 million USD.
Building on the outcomes achieved in Belgium, Tay Ninh continued its investment promotion programme in Ede, the Netherlands, where the provincial delegation visited and held discussions with Royal De Heus Group, a major investor in high-tech agriculture and livestock farming.
During the remainder of the visit, the delegation will continue participating in investment promotion activities in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Stuttgart, Germany, aiming to access advanced technologies, modern management expertise, and sustainable development models, thereby creating fresh momentum for the province’s next stage of development.
