Ton Duc Thang Award honours outstanding engineers, workers

A ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City on February 4 to present the Ton Duc Thang Award to 11 outstanding engineers and workers from various fields.

The event was held by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and the Ho Chi Minh City Labour Federation, Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Sai Gon) Newspaper.

The Ton Duc Thang Award is a city-level distinction presented to outstanding engineers and workers who have made numerous technical innovations and undertaken practical scientific research projects applied in production and business operations, helping enterprises save costs and generate benefits worth hundreds of billions of Vietnamese dong each year.

Over the past 25 years, a total of 268 outstanding individuals with high-value initiatives, a strong sense of professional discipline, continuous learning, and proactive innovation in their work have been honoured with the Ton Duc Thang Award.

The award has also contributed to building a workforce with strong skills, professional expertise, and creative thinking.

At this 25th award ceremony, many initiatives demonstrated high value and delivered tangible benefits to enterprises. A notable example is the initiative entitled “An Intelligent System Solution for Controlling Mainboard TV Software (PBA Main SW)” by Nguyen Tang Phap, Head of the Production Quality Improvement Department at Samsung Electronics Ho Chi Minh City CE Complex (SEHC) Co., Ltd. The initiative helps the company and its suppliers prevent the use of incorrect software, thereby avoiding incidents during the production process and saving the company approximately 100,000 USD per year.

Expressing his honour at receiving the Award on this occasion, Nguyen Tang Phap said that the award would serve as a strong motivation for him to continue his research and creative efforts, and to contribute further initiatives and improvements to the development of his unit in the time ahead.
