The event was attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), the Melbourne city authorities, and nearly 100 travel agents, businesses and airlines in Melbourne.
It also gathered the participation of 27 travel businesses of Quang Nam, Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue.
At the event, the Vietnamese businesses took part in business-to-business (B2B) meetings to exchange information, advertise their tourism products and services and sign cooperation agreements to expand their market in Australia.
The programme also included a film screening space and a photo exhibition of the three Vietnamese localities’ culture, festivals and tourism.

According to the Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thanh Hong, Australia ranks 3rd in the top 10 sources of international visitors to Quang Nam Province.
He reported that in 2023, the province welcomed 104,000 Australian visitors and estimated more than 96,000 in the first 8 months of this year.
The tourism promotion programme aims to attract more Australian holidaymakers to Vietnam’s central region and Quang Nam Province in particular, thereby affirming the position and brand of Quang Nam as a green destination on the tourist map, he said.
