She is one of only three shooters to achieve a perfect 100 points during the competition and the only one among the eight finalists.
The finals will be held on July 28 at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre, where the Vietnamese athlete will compete against powerhouses from Hungary, the Republic of Korea, China, India, and Turkey.
Trinh Thu Vinh became the second Vietnamese shooter to enter the final of an Olympic shooting event, following Hoang Xuan Vinh, who won the historic gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event and a silver medal in the men’s 50m pistol at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
