Conveying President Maduro’s message on Venezolana de Television (VTV), the state-run television station in Venezuela, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yván Gil Pinto stressed that Venezuela will keep a close watch on the developments, and is willing to provide necessary support for Vietnam.
The VTV on September 10 spotlighted the solidarity of the Vietnamese people, affirming it will help the Southeast Asian country to recover from the most powerful storm hitting the nation in 30 years.
Over the past days, the Venezuelan and Latin American media have updated the developments of the typhoon, and hailed the Vietnamese Government and people’s recovery efforts.
The typhoon and its subsequent torrential rains, floods, landslides, and bridge collapse have left 200 people dead or missing in the northern region of Vietnam as of September 11 morning. It was the third storm entering the East Sea so far this year.
