Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Xuan affirmed that the Party, State and entire society have always paid great attention and care to creating the most favourable conditions for children, teenagers, and adolescents, especially orphans and those with difficult circumstances or disabilities.
She praised the children's efforts to rise above from difficulties and make contributions to the community and society.
She expressed her hope that the children will continue to stay confident in themselves, maintain their energy and strong will to achieve their dreams, and promote the spirit of sharing and love in the community.
She also praised the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans (ASVHO) for organising the event and called on the association to take more practical actions to support and care for orphans, children with disabilities and children living in difficult circumstances.
According to ASVHO Chairman Nguyen Trong Dam, the organisation has established branches in 46 cities and provinces nationwide, creating a strong network to care for underprivileged people.
He reported that over the past three decades, the association has raised more than 5.3 trillion VND to support people with disabilities, orphans and poor people across the country.
