The forum connects domestic and international stakeholders to provide and share information and propose solutions for developing key areas of the Mekong Delta.
The forum also contributes to supporting the development of policies and strategies for sustainable development of the Mekong Delta with a vision for 2045, especially on industrialisation and modernisation in the new context.
According to the Organizing Committee, in the new context and under the direction of the Government on the development of the Mekong Delta, Can Tho University has chaired and organised the "Forum on Sustainable Development of the Mekong Delta with a vision to 2045 - SDMD 2045" from 2022.
Between 2022 and 2024, outstanding achievements in SDMD activities, such as Organizing the international forum "Science and Technology: Driving force for sustainable development of the Mekong Delta" and ten quarterly online seminars on the topics of agriculture, aquaculture, environment and climate change and digital transformation, were organised.
Within the framework of SDMD, the Organising Committee has also developed and implemented more than 20 large-scale international cooperation projects, implemented in localities.
In addition, the Organising Committee has signed cooperation agreements with more than 20 units, members and partners, including domestic and international agencies, institutes, schools and enterprises through forums and seminars.
