During the first nine months of 2026, Tay Ninh Province proactively carried out external relations activities and strengthened connections with diplomatic missions, international organisations, partners and investors at home and abroad.
Director of the Tay Ninh Department of Finance Truong Van Liep said that the province had organised and participated in investment, trade and tourism promotion programmes in the US, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Taiwan (China) and Malaysia. These activities created further opportunities for Tay Ninh to promote its potential and advantages, introduce its investment environment and connect with international partners.
Notably, the Tay Ninh Investment Promotion Conference 2026 attracted approximately 500 investors. At the conference, the province presented decisions approving investment policies and investment registration certificates for more than 100 works and projects, with total investment capital of approximately 920 trillion VND. This outcome has opened up opportunities for cooperation, promoted project implementation, supplemented resources for production and business development, and supported the completion of the province’s infrastructure system.
Alongside investment promotion, Tay Ninh has focused on connecting businesses, expanding export markets and enhancing its capacity to participate in international supply chains. In coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the province organised the Tay Ninh Conference on Connecting Import-Export Goods Supply Chains and E-commerce 2026, attracting approximately 650 delegates, including more than 170 foreign businesses from 27 countries and territories.
The effectiveness of investment and trade promotion is reflected in the results achieved during the first nine months of the year. The province granted approval for 142 new domestic investment projects, with total registered capital of 85.881 trillion VND, and attracted 113 foreign-invested projects, with total registered capital of more than 838 million USD. Import-export turnover was estimated at 27.044 billion USD, up 17.5% year on year compared with the same period in 2025. Exports reached approximately 15.542 billion USD, an increase of 19%. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue were estimated at 174.4 trillion VND, up 19%.
In addition to investment and trade, the province has paid attention to promoting its image and harnessing its tourism potential to expand exchanges with international friends. During the first nine months, Tay Ninh welcomed approximately 190,000 foreign visitors, with Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area continuing to be a major attraction. External relations activities have gradually strengthened the links between international cooperation and the development of trade, services and tourism, helping diversify the resources driving local growth.
Sharing a border with the Kingdom of Cambodia, Tay Ninh identifies the strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation with Cambodian localities as an important task linked to ensuring national defence and security and developing the border-area economy. The province has signed cooperation agreements with three provinces - Svay Rieng, Prey Veng and Tboung Khmum, while maintaining exchanges and friendship activities, coordinating border management and promoting people-to-people diplomacy. These practical cooperation programmes help strengthen mutual trust, promote trade and foster solidarity between the peoples of the two countries.
People-to-people diplomacy continues to focus on grassroots communities and is closely linked to improving the lives of residents in border areas. Programmes such as “Accompanying Women in Border Areas” and “Supporting Children on Their Way to School”, as well as support for children sponsored by border guard stations and various initiatives to mobilise resources for officers, soldiers and residents in border areas, have been maintained. These efforts have strengthened solidarity between the armed forces and the people, gradually improved living conditions and created a favourable social foundation for long-term cooperation and development.
At the same time, Tay Ninh has rigorously carried out the search for, recovery and repatriation of the remains of volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia. As part of the “500-day-and-night campaign to step up the search for, recovery and identification of fallen soldiers’ remains”, the province recovered the remains of 694 fallen soldiers in Cambodia. This task carries profound significance, reflecting the Vietnamese tradition of “remembering the source of the water we drink” and helping foster solidarity and friendship between the two peoples.
To capitalise on its advantage as a gateway for trade, the province continues to coordinate with central ministries and agencies to finalise a pilot scheme for mechanisms and policies applicable to Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone. It is also promoting the development of logistics, river-port services and transport links in border areas. Key infrastructure projects, including the Ho Chi Minh City–Moc Bai Expressway, Go Dau–Xa Mat Expressway, Tan An–Binh Hiep Road and the bridge connecting the Tan Nam and Meun Chey international border gates, are receiving focused attention to resolve difficulties and accelerate implementation. These projects are important for strengthening regional connectivity, enhancing freight transport capacity and expanding cross-border trade.
Alongside economic development, Tay Ninh attaches importance to maintaining political security, social order and safety, and border sovereignty. The province is strengthening immigration management, keeping a firm grasp of developments on both sides of the border, and coordinating efforts to prevent and combat transnational crime, smuggling and trade fraud.
At the ninth meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Board on October 1, 2026, Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet called on authorities and sectors at all levels to continue strengthening cooperative relations with foreign localities, organisations and partners, while improving the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy, economic diplomacy and friendship exchanges.
With a proactive and practical approach that places cooperation outcomes and development needs at the centre, Tay Ninh is gradually expanding its external relations, capitalising on its border-gate advantages, strengthening market connectivity and attracting international resources. By maintaining peaceful and friendly borders and ensuring a stable environment, these efforts are laying the foundation for the province to enhance its capacity for international integration, promote growth and achieve sustainable socio-economic development.
