Leveraging the local role in external affairs

To concretise the foreign policy of the Party's 14th National Congress, Politburo Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW, issued on May 19, 2026, regarding the implementation of that policy, affirms that comprehensive external affairs constitute a mission of the entire Party and people, grounded in three pillars: Party diplomacy, state diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy.

Beyond impressive economic growth figures, 2025 also marked major strategic advances in Viet Nam’s external relations, reflecting the country’s new standing in an era of national rise. It marked a decisive shift for Viet Nam — from a country integrating and participating actively to a core role that leads, proactively shapes and contributes to the shared rules of the international community.
