This statement was made by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan during her meeting with delegates from the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association on the occasion of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).
Addressing the meeting, the Vice President noted that culture has a very important role and significance for all countries and ethnic groups. Vietnam owns a treasure of rich and diverse cultural heritages that were formed, cultivated and passed down from generation to generation.
She stressed that the Party and State has always placed cultural heritage in the appropriate place and position in the process of national construction and defence.
Notably, the Law on Cultural Heritage has created a legal corridor to perform the task of protecting and embellishing cultural heritages as well as strengthening the effectiveness of state management and raising the people's responsibility to participate in the protection and promotion of cultural heritage values.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to perform well the state management function and advise the Party and State to develop guidelines and policies on culture in a timely and practical manner.
In addition, the members of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day should continue to uphold their passion and love for culture and cultural heritages while innovating the operational methods in line with the current situation, thus contributing to preserving and promoting cultural heritage values.
